Dr. Thompson received her undergraduate degree from Yale University and her medical and public health degrees from Johns Hopkins University. She completed her internship and residency in pediatrics at Johns Hopkins Hospital Children's Center. She is on the voluntary faculty in pediatrics at Tulane University and has been on staff at Ochsner since 1997.
