Ragene Rivera, M.D. specializes in medical oncology and is board certified in internal medicine and medical oncology. Before she moved to the El Paso area, Dr. Rivera was chief of medical oncology at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Tyler and the founder and director of its Medical Breast Clinic. In 1990, she moved to El Paso to join the faculty of Texas Tech Health Science Center where she became chief of their oncology service. Dr. Rivera served on the Texas Cancer Council as part of the Scientific Advisory Committee and has been active in the American Cancer Society since 1980, serving as a regional medical director in 1989. She has been active as well in the community Hospice Program in both Tyler and El Paso. Dr. Rivera is currently an active member of the USON Breast Cancer Research Committee and is the El Paso Primary Investigator for breast cancer research protocols. She lectures regularly on topics of breast cancer, serving on the speakers bureau of Novartis, Genomic Health, Myraid Lab and physician education resources. She is also a clinical associate professor at Texas Tech Health Science Center.
