Dr Petros Efthimiou, MD, is the Associate Chief of Rheumatology at New York Methodist Hospitaland an Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine and Rheumatology at Weill Medical College of Cornell University. A graduate of the University of Ioannina Medical School in Ioannina, Greece, Dr Efthimiou completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Brown University's Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island, and his Rheumatology Fellowship at the Hospital for Special Surgery and New York Presbyterian/Cornell Campus. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology. Dr. Efthimiou has expertise in the treatment of autoimmune disorders including Rheumatoid Arthritis,
Psoriatic arthritis, gout, osteoarthritis, myositis, SLE-lupus, Sjogren's syndrome, Vasculitis, Pulmonary Hypertension, Scleroderma, Osteoporosis, Autoinflammatory Syndromes and Adult onset Still's Disease. Dr. Efthimiou has published numerous papers in peer-reviewed journals and was a Clinical Investigator in several trials. He has served as an ad hoc reviewer; editorial board member and Lead Guest Editor in several peer-reviewed journals and is a frequently invited speaker in medical conferences.
