Brief Intro

Dr. Banitt received his Bachelor's degree from St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN and then completed Medical School at the University of Iowa in Iowa City. He then furthered his medical training by pursuing his internal medicine residency training at Boston's Beth Israel Hospital, and completing his general and interventional cardiology fellowship training at Brigham and Women's Hospital. Both are Teaching Hospitals affiliated with Harvard Medical School. [Read More] Dr. Banitt enjoys seeing patients with all types of cardiovascular problems and has a sub-specialty interest in coronary and peripheral interventions. This includes treating coronary artery narrowings with balloon angioplasty or stents. He is also able to treat peripheral artery disease by performing interventions in diseased vessels in the legs. Currently, Dr. Banitt is the Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratories at Legacy Portland Hospitals. In addition to his procedural interests, Dr. Banitt would like to get to know each person as an individual and make sure they understand their particular heart condition and how we are working to treat it. Outside of work, Dr.Banitt is married and has twin daughters. He and his family enjoy horseback riding, camping and eating locally grown, organic foods.
