Dr. Callahan received his medical degree at SUNY Health Science Center in Syracuse, New York. He completed his pediatric internship and residency at George Washington University’s Children's National Medical Center, where he also completed his pediatric cardiology and pediatric and fetal echocardiography fellowships.
Dr. Callahan is board certified in pediatric cardiology. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a member of the American Society of Echocardiography and the American Heart Association.
Dr. Callahan joined a private practice pediatric cardiology group in Dallas, Texas, before returning to the Washington, D.C. area as faculty at Georgetown University Hospital. He joined Child Cardiology Associates in 2003. His clinical interests include the diagnosis and treatment of heart disease in the fetus and child, with a focus in echocardiography. He is the medical director of pediatric and fetal echocardiography at CCA.
Dr. Callahan is proud to have been recognized by his peers as a Top Doctor in the Washingtonian and Northern Virginia magazines.
Dr. Callahan enjoys landscaping and spending free time with his wife and four daughters.
