He has a special interest in chronic liver disease/cirrhosis and inflammatory bowel diseases such as Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. He received his undergraduate degree from Union College in Schenectady, NY and his Master of Business Administration in healthcare management from Union Graduate College. He then earned his medical degree from Albany Medical College and subsequently completed his internship and residency from Mount Sinai Beth Israel Hospital in New York City. Dr. Jilani is an active member of multiple gastroenterology associations including American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE), American Gastroenterological Association (AGA) and American College of Gastroenterology (ACG.
