Brief Intro

Welcome to my Web page. I've been a pediatrician at Kaiser Permanente, based at Panorama City, since 1982, and have had the pleasure of watching thousands of children grow into young healthy adults. My practice now includes the children of my former patients, brought in by both their parents and their grandparents for their routine care. The grandparents and I always share a laugh, because only the children have grown older over the past 25 years. BiographyI was born in a small farming town in New Jersey where my parents were egg farmers. I moved to New York when I was nine, and traveled by subway to school starting in the seventh grade. I always wanted to be a doctor, perhaps because of an adolescent crush on Dr. Kildare. I attended college and medical school in New York City and moved to California in 1977 to start my internship. My husband became a Kaiser Permanente physician in June of 1977 and we have the distinction of being one of several married physician couples in the Kaiser Permanente family. We have two grown daughters and love being empty nesters although each of our daughters calls us at least twice a day. I read constantly, and when I don't have a book in my hands, I'm knitting. About my practiceMy practice is fun and dynamic. We work as a team and I love the physicians and nurses in my module. We help each other whenever we can and whenever needed. My practice philosophy is that medicine is a science and an art, often with many correct answers for the same question. I don't believe in absolutes and am excited to try different approaches, keeping the parents as part of the team. How I thriveI thrive by varying what I do. Work is an integral part of my life, but so is reading the latest best seller or cooking a meal with my husband or taking a walk on the beach. My family is small so my friends are my family and I make time to see them as often as I can. We have dinner parties, take trips together, chat on the phone and catch up. I also make sure that I have always have some personal time that is just for me only - it helps energize me and get me ready for the challenges of the day.
