Dr. Parkerson is a native of Akron, Ohio, and was raised in Danville, Virginia. She attended Mary Baldwin College in Virginia, receiving an undergraduate degree in Chemistry Magna Cum Laude, then attended the University of Virginia for her medical education. Dr. Parkerson completed her pediatric residency at the University of Virginia. She and her husband, Michael, have two daughters, Amelia and Ainsley. Dr. Parkerson enjoys cooking, gardening, and spending time on Lake Gaston on her jet ski.
