Dr. Bernhardt received her bachelor degree through the Honors Program of Hunter College, CUNY. She then graduated from the University of Maryland Medical School in Baltimore. After medical school, Dr. Bernhardt completed a general medical internship at Sinai Hospital, also in Baltimore. She then moved to Washington, D.C. to undertake a specialty residency in neurology at Georgetown University Medical Center, where she served as Chief Resident. Following her residency, Dr. Bernhardt attended the University of Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia to complete an additional year of fellowship with extra training in dementia and cognitive disorders. She practiced general neurology in Hagerstown, Maryland for several years before returning to Baltimore to join the Taylor Medical Group. Dr. Bernhardt is board certified both in neurology and in EEG.
