Brief Intro

Dr. Cohen initially graduated with a degree in Chemical Engineering. He studied in London, England at the renowned Imperial College of Science and Technology under an Athlone Scholarship. A Masters Degree in Medical Engineering was obtained, with research performed in Biomedical Engineering. This led to a career in orthopedics, highlighted by expertise in minimally invasive joint replacement surgery of hip and knee, shoulder surgery - including resurfacing, replacement and rotator cuff management, arthroscopic surgery of knee and shoulder, as well as general orthopedic fracture care. Staying at the leading edge of orthopedic joint replacement has allowed shorter hospital stays with the potential for day-surgery joint replacement for young, healthy patients, as well as the use of computerized navigation to optimize implant position and expedite recovery. The latest advent is arthroscopic assisted knee resurfacing, designed specifically to treat early-stage arthritis in middle-aged and active baby boomers. Along with key surgeons from around the country, Dr. Cohen is involved in studying and following these patients after surgery in order to monitor their progress over time. Dr. Cohen has been using this new technology since last year and is now one of the highest volume users in the elite group of surgeons using this new joint preserving option.
