In addition to my private practice, I work as a researcher and clinician in the Department of Psychiatry at Columbia University. I completed a PhD in Neuroscience with Antonio Damasio, one of the world's foremost experts on the neuroscience of emotions, decision-making and consciousness. I am applying this training to understanding how psychotherapies work by changing the mind, the brain and the body as an integrated system. My perspective as a researcher informs my work as a clinician, since many of my patients struggle with the very same problems that I study as a researcher.
