Dr. Milton B. Armstrong graduated from Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. Following medical school Dr. Armstrong completed training in general surgery at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. His Plastic Surgery training was at Tulane University Medical Center in New Orleans, LA and he completed a Hand Surgery Fellowship in Houston at the St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital/Baylor College of Medicine program. He is board certified in plastic surgery and holds his Certificate of Added Qualifications in Hand Surgery.
After residency and fellowship training, Dr. Armstrong joined the faculty of the Ohio State University College of Medicine in the Division of Plastic Surgery. In addition to his clinical duties at Ohio State, Dr. Armstrong served as Associate Dean for Student Affairs (1996-1999) and Associate Dean for Minority Affairs (1998-1999). He joined the University of Miami School of Medicine faculty in the Division of Plastic Surgery (October 1999), and the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery (July 2000). His clinical interests are adult and congenital hand surgery of the trunk. Nerve regeneration and Carpal Tunnel Syndrome have been his primary focus for research.
