Brief Intro

Dr. Schneier's interest in Neurosurgery began during medical school at New York University when he was granted a Levin Foundation Grant to do research at the Weitzman Institute of Science. He continued to cultivate this interest during his neurosurgery training at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine with award winning research in CNS transplantation and neural regeneration, which resulted in university held patents. For this, he was awarded the highest honors and recognition by the NYC Neurosurgical Society in consecutive years and was given the Leo Davidoff Society Residency Award by his residency Chairman and Director. Post residency, Dr Schneier furthered his training with fellowships in both NeuroOncology at Cedars Sinai Medical Center and Spinal Reconstruction at the University of New Mexico under Dr. Edward Benzel. He later succeeded his mentor as director of Spinal Trauma and Reconstruction at UNM, serving the people of this multistate regional trauma center. Through his clinical expertise and his technical patents, Dr Schneier is a well regarded member of the national and international community of neurosurgeons as well as subspecialty spine surgeons. He is board certified in Neurosurgery and is a member of the American Association of Neurosurgery, both the general and spine divisions. He has exceptional microsurgical skills in complex spinal reconstruction for tumor, trauma and revision surgery. His patients can expect the highest degree of satisfaction from all facets of care, both surgical and other.
