He was awarded his Medical Degree from the University of Arkansas School of Medicine in Fayetteville in 1975. His undergraduate degree was achieved at Arkansas Polytechnic College in Russellville, Arkansas in 1971, where he had three varsity letters in football and was a member of Blue Key. He graduated from North Little Rock High School in North Little Rock, Arkansas, where he was the president of the student body and was on the all-state football team. Dr. Reid was named the Outstanding Orthopaedic Resident Award at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas, and awarded the Army Commendation Medal for Achievement as Staff Orthopaedic Surgeon from Nurnberg Army Hospital in Nurnberg, West Germany. Dr. Reid has been in private practice in Nashville, Tennessee since 1985. He was previously a Clinical Instructor in Orthopaedics at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia. He was also a Staff Orthopaedic Surgeon with the U. S. Army at Martin Army Community Hospital in Fort Benning, Georgia and in Nurnberg, West Germany.
