Dr. Michael DaValle, Chief of Cardiac Surgery at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital, received his Bachelor of Science (Magna Cum Laude) from Loyola University in Chicago. He received his medical degree from Loyola University - Stritch School of Medicine in 1978. In 1983 he completed his general surgery residency under the direction of Dr. Frank Cole Spencer at New York University - Bellevue. Next Dr. DaValle completed his cardiothoracic residency and vascular surgery fellowship at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke's Medical Center in 1986. He holds Board Certifications in Surgery, Thoracic Surgery, and General Vascular Surgery. He holds a dual faculty appointment at Loyola University Medical Center in the Departments of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery as well as the Departnment of Surgery. Dr. DaValle's special interests include adult cardiac surgery with special interest in heart valve repair and replacement. He has extensive experience with beating heart coronary bypass surgery, avoiding the heart lung machine. Dr. DaValle also has extensive experience in cerebrovascular and aneurysm surgery, including minimally invasive endovascular techniques.
