Dr. Steinberg serves as an attending Cardiothoracic Surgeon at Memorial Hospital, St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, and Elkhart General Hospital.
He graduated cum laude from the University of Rochester with a B.S. in Biochemistry in 1992. He then proceeded to earn his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh, graduating in 1996. His specialty training continued at the University of Florida where he served as resident and chief resident in general surgery from 1996 to 2001. Thereafter, he completed his cardiothoracic fellowship training at the University of Rochester Strong Memorial Hospital from 2001 to 2003 serving as resident and again chief resident in Cardiothoracic Surgery.
Dr. Steinberg holds board certification with the National Board of Medical Examiners, the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery. He holds a medical license in Indiana and is certified with the US Drug Enforcement Agency and has authored numerous specific papers focusing on RNA processing and atherogenesis.
