Dr. Megan Viquez, MD is a Board-Certified Family Medicine physician with specialized fellowship training in Maternal-Child Health and Surgical Obstetrics. She earned her medical degree from the University of Colorado School of Medicine and completed her residency at the Contra Costa Family Medicine Program in California. Dr. Viquez completed her Maternal-Child Health fellowship at Avista Adventist Hospital and St. Anthony North Health Campus. Originally from Del Norte, Colorado, Dr. Viquez has a personal understanding of the unique healthcare challenges faced by rural communities. Her experiences fuel her passion for providing accessible, comprehensive, and patient-centered care. She is thrilled to serve this community alongside her husband, the other Dr. Viquez, and the dedicated team at Southwest Medical Group in Cortez and Mancos. Dr. Viquez's favorite part of her job is developing trusting relationships with her patients, helping individuals of all ages achieve their health and wellness goals, and providing reproductive and obstetrical care. Outside of her medical practice, she enjoys spending time in the great outdoors, knitting, cooking, singing, playing music, learning to fly, and traveling. She cherishes time spent with her family, dog, and two cats.
