Max Shokat, D.O. is a board certified fellowship trained physical medicine and rehabilitation physician who specializes in the non-operative treatment of spine, joint, muscle and nerve pain. He began his medial career as a combat medic for the U.S. Army Reserves while based in St. Petersburg, FL. Dr. Shokat received his Doctor of Osteopathy from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey School of Osteopathic Medicine. Following his residency at the Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, GA, Dr. Shokat then completed an interventional pain fellowship at the University of Florida Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Institute.
As a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Shokat practices a 'whole person' approach to patient care. He is also skilled in the use of Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment, a hands-on approach to help diagnosis and treat illness and injury.
