Lisa Maxwell, M.D., is a native of New Jersey where she earned her undergraduate degree in chemistry and molecular biology at Rutgers University. She completed her medical education at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, Piscataway campus. She went on to the Crozer Keystone family practice residency program to complete her residency in 2005.
She completed a fellowship in faculty development at Christiana Care in which she focused on taking care of the needs of an underserved population within and around Wilmington. She helps to educate medical students, with particular interest in running a student-run clinic at the Wilmington Hospital Health Center. Her interest in public health has led her to begin course work towards a master's degree.
Dr. Maxwell provides care to adolescents at two of the school-based health centers in Delaware, and she cares for young adults within the wellness center of the Wilmington Job Corps site. She has done some research within the field of obesity and plans to continue a career within research. The newest aspect of her job has included starting the Teen Clinic based at Wilmington Hospital designed to serve the needs of high-risk teens.
Dr. Maxwell continues to reside in New Jersey. She has a young son whom she loves spending time with going to the zoo, watching movies and just playing. She enjoys movies, music and trying new restaurants.
