Dr. Matthew Savage
Dr. Sonny Long
Dr. Sonny Long is a veteran in the dental field, having been in practice for over 26 years. His undergraduate studies began at Elon University, where he earned a degree in biology. Dr. Long went on to obtain his DDS degree from the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry.
He is a part-time faculty member at the UNC School of Dentistry and the University of Kentucky School of Dentistry. Dr. Long teaches orthodontics at UNC two days per month as well as leads a video conference with pediatric residents and faculty at both Kentucky and UNC from our office two to three days per month.
Dr. Sonny Long holds membership in the following organizations: American Society of Dentistry for Children, American Dental Association, North Carolina Dental Society, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Southeastern Society of Pediatric Dentistry, American Association of Orthodontics, Southern Association of Orthodontics, North Carolina Society of Pediatric Dentistry, North Carolina Association of Orthodontics, Charlotte Dental Society and the Metrolina Dental Society.
Dr.Sonny Long is married to his wife, Cathy, and has one daughter (Marshall) and one son (Brady).

Dr. Judy Laxer
Dr.Judy Laxer earned her DDS degree at McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, in 1988. She went on to acquire a degree in pediatric dentistry from the University of Montreal in 1992.
Having been in practice for 16 years, Dr. Laxer is a member of many professional organizations, including the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, Canadian Dental Association, Southeastern Society of Pediatric Dentistry, North Carolina Dental Society and the North Carolina Society of Pediatric Dentistry.
Away from the office, she donates her time to schools and the local community center.

Dr. Matthew Savage
Dr. Matthew Savage is a board certified specialist in Pediatric Dentistry. A native of Graham, North Carolina, Dr. Savage attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for his undergraduate education. He continued his education at UNC Chapel Hill School of Dentistry where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree, Masters of Science Degree in Pediatric Dentistry, and certificate in Pediatric Dentistry. While there, he garnished a record characterized by academic achievement and community service.
Among his many accomplishments, Dr. Matthew Savage has been published in multiple medical and dental journals and has presented his research at regional, national, and international meetings. Much of his research has been on the effects of early preventive dental visits where it was published in the medical journal Pediatrics.
Dr. Matthew Savage has received multiple awards, honors, and fellowships recognizing his efforts in pediatric dentistry. Dr. Savage was awarded the Richard C. Pugh award for scoring in the top 3% for the comprehensive written section of the American Board of the Pediatric Dentistry examination and later became a board certified pediatric dentist and Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.
Dr. Matthew Savage will continue his relationship with UNC Chapel Hill as an adjunct clinical professor in the Department of Pediatric Dentistry. He currently is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the American Dental Association as well as regional,state, and local dental societies including Charlotte and Metrolina dental societies. He currently is on the board of a local Charlotte nonprofit organization, Community Health Services, which provides preventive healthcare for underserved children and adults.
Dr. Matthew Savage is married to Grace Savage and has three children: Price, Riley and Ada.
