Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:Physiatry is a specialty that focuses on patient recovery from both life-changing and minor ailments. To me, the appealing aspect of this specialty is the ability to help people regain quality of life. A large part of my specialty is electrodiagnostic testing, also known as EMG & Nerve Conduction Studies. It is a test to evaluate the peripheral nervous system, which is much like an electrical circuit, and I believe that my background in electrical engineering has been very helpful. After several years of practice I opted to complete additional training in the field of interventional pain medicine so that I would be better equipped to treat the pain syndromes that can be diagnosed with electrodiagnostic testing and other modalities. What I want my patients to know about me:I enjoy meeting new people and look forward to engaging my patients on a personal and professional level to help them achieve their goals. What I do when I'm not seeing patients:I participate in sporting activities such as ice hockey, gardening, and raising my children with my lovely wife.
