Dr. Goedecke and his team love building relationships with our patients and their families. It is truly a humbling and gratifying experience to be a part of our patientsâ€™ lives. Dr. Mark A. Goedecke attended Southern Illinois University as an undergraduate and earned a degree in Zoology and Chemistry. He then attended MUSC in Charleston, SC, where he received his Doctorate of Dental Medicine in 1997. Dr. Goedecke spent the next four years as a dentist for the US Air Force. While in the Air Force, Dr. Goedecke received the Meritorious Service Medal for leadership in dentistry. He later opened his own private practice, Goedecke Family Dentistry, in January, 2003. Dr. Goedecke is a fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry, a distinction only 5% of dentists have attained. He is also an active member of the American Dental Association, South Carolina Dental Association, and has served as a Past-President of the South Carolina Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Goedeckeâ€™s extensive training and pursuit of clinical excellence keeps him abreast of all the latest technological advances in dentistry. He participates in at least 50 hours of continuing education every two years. This benefits our patients because heâ€™s always aware of new concepts, products, and services in the dental field. Originally from Gouda, Netherlands, Dr. Goedecke currently resides in Mount Pleasant. When not at work, Dr. Goedecke enjoys spending time with his wife, Aimee, who is a pediatrician in West Ashley and Daniel Island, and their two growing children, Erin and Willem.He is an avid competitive athlete and teaches the value of balance and a life-long healthy physical activity such as swimming.
