Dr. Makida Bey is a global award winning anxiety coach and therapist. She is passionate particularly about resilience therapy and coaching. Besides providing these services, Makida has been a guest speaker on topics that benefit from her years of experience, including PTSD, anxiety, psychological domains of health, cultural racism, and self care for individuals and communities. She has also assisted with workshops on topics such as microaggression, racial discourse, and how and when to engage others on difficult issues.
Dr. Bey holds a PsyD in Clinical Psychology (summa cum laude), an M.A. in Counseling Psychology, and a B.A. degree in Psychology. She also has Graduate Certificates from Harvard Medical School in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, in Applied Behavior Analysis from Arizona State University, in Instructional Systems Design from the University of Maryland and in Leadership Coaching from The George Washington University. Makida has also completed coursework towards a Ph.D. in Work and Organizational Psychology at Aston University in the U.K. She is a Registered Psychology Associate in the state of Maryland, and is under the supervision of Janice Stevenson, PhD (6755 Business Parkway, Elkridge, Maryland 21075, (410) 202-0598). Makida works with high-anxiety clients through exposure and response therapy. She is a qualified mediator for community and court cases involving families and labor disputes.
