Pathologists typically focus their expertise in one of three broad areas: diagnostic patient care, teaching and research. Over the years, Dr. Samuel has focused her attention in all three areas: she has been a pathologist in diagnostic patient care for more than two decades; was an anatomy teacher for nearly a decade; and has conducted research throughout her medical school, training and career. Board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology, Dr. Samuel helps patients at Fauquier Health by solving disease-related problems. She also advances the understanding and treatment of disease through her continued support for clinical research and education.
