Lisa C. Thomas, M.D. is a graduate of The Medical College of Pennsylvania and completed her fellowship in Hematology and Oncology at the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute. She is board certified in Hematology, Medical Oncology and Internal Medicine. Dr. Thomas was an Assistant Professor of Medicine and the Director of the Bone Marrow Transplant Program at the University of Pittsburgh.
Dr. Thomas evaluates patients in the office and holds privileges to see patients at Moses Taylor Hospital, Regional Hospital of Scranton, Geisinger-Community Medical Center, Allied Services Rehabilitation Hospital and Mid Valley Hospital. She serves as Medical Director of Hospice at Regional Hospital of Scranton.
Dr. Thomas is a member of the American College of Physicians, the Pennsylvania Medical Society, the American Medical Association and the American Society of Clinical Oncology. She is also a member of the Lackawanna County Medical Society where she previously served as president and is presently a board member. She also serves on the Board of Directors for the American Cancer Society and was a prior Board Member of the Northeast Regional Cancer Institute and the Susan G. Koman Foundation. Dr. Thomas serves on the Ethics Committee and Blood Utilization Committee at Mercy Hospital. She is a Clinical Preceptor in the Scranton Temple Residency Program and an Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine at The Commonwealth Medical College. In her spare time, she serves on the board of directors for the Scranton Cultural Center and the Ballet Theatre of Scranton.
