Dr. Malkin is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who has been performing orthopedic surgery for more than 20 years.
Dr. Malkin received an undergraduate degree from Clark University in Worcester, Mass., and a medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine. He completed orthopedic residency training at Boston’s University Hospital. He developed a special interest in ankle arthroscopy and flatfoot reconstruction, practicing full-time at several Boston-area hospitals. He served as an assistant professor of orthopedics at Boston University School of Medicine.
Dr. Malkin served on staff at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Corvallis from 1988 to 2006 at which point he returned from full-time practice, prior to joining Dr. Vela’s practice in 2009, he served as locum tenens staff at various regional hospitals.
Dr. Malkin has volunteered in Bhutan and Uganda for Health Volunteers Overseas and in the anatomy lab at Oregon Health & Science University to help first-year medical students. He enjoys spending his free time with his wife, Joanne, and visiting with the couple’s two daughters and three grandchildren. He also enjoys walking his dog, Logan, on nearby Bald Hill.
