The Schulman Vein and Laser Center is one of the oldest most established vein-only vein centers in both NY as well as the US. We are a full time vein center focusing exclusively on both varicose veins and spider veins. We are a family owned medical practice with both doctors being board certified. This is very beneficial for you, as less then 1% of ' vein doctors ' are certified by the American College of Phlebology (the largest vein disease and treatment medical society in America). We treat all patients in our offices using the most modern and efficient non-surgical treatments including injection therapy, phlebectomy, and laser treatments. While many doctors claim to be vein centers or vein specialists very few are actually board certified in vein treatment and disease. Often, hospital 'vein clinics' use training doctors (learning residents) to treat patients veins as a way to gain experience. You want a vein specialist treating you, and we do NOTHING BUT vein treatment !! Our vein-only treatment center was started by Dr. Martin L. Schuman M.D. who saw a need for patients to have both a less invasive and cosmetically superior way to treat both varicose veins and spider veins. He was among the first board certified Vascular Surgeons in America yet wanted to do less invasive treatment while still working to improve patients results. Dr. Martins partner, and son, Dr. Lee G. Schulman M.D. has been working with him at the Schulman Vein and Laser Center for almost 25 years, and together we have treated more then 10,000 patients, in our 65 plus years as vein specialists. We have expanded beyond our first office in Nassau County on Long Island and now also work in Manhattan and Suffolk County. Every vein treatment has always been done on an outpatient basis and everybody can drive themselves home after their vein therapy. Every vein removal procedure is done without the need for anesthesia ( it's really not necessary -promise !!) Just as Dr. Martin Schulman was among the first board certified Vascular Surgeons, Dr. Lee Schulman was among the first board certified Phlebolgists (doctors committed to vein disease and vein therapy). Each doctor has lectured extensively at medical meetings about vein treatment and presented original findings. Recognition of these achievements have brought both doctors national and international recognition. Dr. Lee Schulman was the first doctor to ever lecture about the treatment of enlarged hand veins to help womanâ€™s hands look younger and he has been on television for his work in this area. He has also studied in the Vascular Medicine Department of the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota and is a Registered Vascular Technician (RVT) as a result of passing rigorous certifying exams. Unlike other offices where part timers, nurses or medical residents/students may partake in treating patients, at the Schulman office, all patients are treated personally by the physicians.
