Dr. Carlson is originally from Florida and moved to Greenville in the summer of 2018 after completing both residency and MFM fellowship at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. She chose to join the faculty at Prisma Health to participate in full-spectrum MFM care in a hospital with strong missions that match her own: commitment to learners and commitment to provide care for high risk pregnant women. Dr. Carlson's particular interests in MFM include patient education, genetics, perinatal mood disorders and management of maternal disease. She feels privileged to practice Maternal Fetal Medicine to be afforded not only the opportunity to care for growing families, but also to use pregnancy as a unique time to educate and motivate women for continued care for medical comorbidities for the future health of their families.
