Brief Intro

I am Chief of Vascular Surgery and Associate Professor of Surgery at the West Virginia University School of Medicine. My vascular practice (over 400 procedures per year) is conducted at a modern, well staffed tertiary care facility. My practice entails all aspects of traditional open vascular surgery (aortic/carotid/fem-pop/dialysis access/venous) and minimally invasive endovascular surgery. Peripheral angioplasty and stenting is performed regularly as well as stent graft placement for repair of abdominal aortic aneurysms. Emigrated to America(Akron, Ohio) at age 8 from India in 1966. Attended public school in Akron- grades 3-8. Attended Western Reserve Academy in Hudson, Oho(prep school)for high school graduating in 1976. Graduated with B.S.in Chemistry (Honors) from Kent State University Kent , Ohio in 1980. Received M.D. degree from West Virginia University School of Medicine in 1984. Completed training in General Surgery and Critical Care (1984-1990) at West Virigina University Medical Center. Obtained further training in Vascular Surgery at the University of South Florida in Tampa (1990-1992). Joined the SUNY at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences as an Assitant Professor of Surgery in 1992. Relocated to my alma mater in February 2000 at the invitation of the Chairman. Board certified (and recertified) in Surgery, Vascular Surgery and Surgical Critical Care.
