Brief Intro

Kirsten was born in Vancouver, British Columbia. She graduated from the University of Washington where she participated in research on apoptosis inflammatory pathways in vascular tissue. She also volunteered at a clinic in Ghana. Between college and medical school, Kirsten was an AmeriCorps volunteer and ran an after-school program for at-risk elementary students. While in medical school, Kirsten worked with the UW Native People for Cancer Control and conducted clinical research with an American Indian tribe in Montana on risk information. Kirsten, her husband, Ryan, and their son, Noah, enjoy music, fresh air and hikes, and they dream of bringing the family on international medical missions and rock climbing trips.
