Dr. Kelly Shortridge is a board-certified, bariatric-trained and foregut surgeon. He earned his medical degree from Western University of Health Sciences in California and completed his advanced fellowship training at the University of Texas in Houston.
Dr. Shortridge subspecializes in minimally invasive laparoscopic and robotic bariatric and foregut procedures. He treats a broad scope of surgical pathology including abnormalities of the skin, biliary tract, endocrine organs, small bowel, colon, stomach & esophagus. However, his subspecialty focus is stomach and esophageal surgery including bariatric weight loss procedures, reflux and achalasia. The bariatric procedures he performs include the sleeve gastrectomy, gastric bypass and duodenal switch as well as revisional bariatric procedures and complex reconstructions. Another large part of his practice is treating complex reflux and achalasia. These surgeries including laparoscopic and robotic hiatal hernia repairs, Nissen and Toupet fundoplications, and heller myotomies as well as revisional and complex reconstructions of the stomach and esophagus.
During his free time, Dr. Shortridge enjoys spending time with family, his wife who he met in high school and his two dogs. He also enjoys outdoor activities as well as regular exercise, movies, dining out and downhill skiing.
