As a young girl, Dr. Kathryn Honz knew exactly what she wanted to be when she grew up. She and her mother frequently watched medical television shows, including those where doctors performed live surgeries. Most people would be squeamish at these sights, but Dr. Honz was left fascinated. She proclaimed that one day, she would be a doctor as well. Setting her sights on being a surgeon, Dr. Honz completed medical school and residency at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
