Dr. Kathleen Isdith is a native of New York. Her undergraduate training was completed at New York University at which time she received a Bachelor of Arts and Science. She then went on to her studies at New York University College of Dentistry and completed her residency at NYU in a four year training program in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. In 1997, following the completion of her oral surgery training, she moved to Seattle, Washington to start a fellowship at the University of Washington under the direction of Dr. Phillip Worthington. During this one year of fellowship she did extensive work in implant surgery, as well as grafting procedures. After the completion of her fellowship, she was asked to stay on at the University as an assistant professor. Her duties included teaching the undergraduate students as well as instructing residents in oral surgery. She also took part in surgeries at the Seattle VA Medical Center, Harborview, and Children's Hospital. Presently, she is an affiliate faculty member at the University of Washington on a part-time basis. At the University, Dr. Isdith instructs the undergraduate students. She also developed a sedation course that she and Dr. Doug Jackson launched 4 years ago. This class allows her to assist students who are interested in further academic training to enhance their skills in an area not stressed during typical dental training.
Dr. Isdith and Dr. Hart met in 1997 at the University of Washington. She was asked to become an associate at Dr. Hart's practice in July 1998.
Dr. Hart and Dr. Isdith worked together until October 2000, at which time she was asked to become a partner. She is now a full partner in the practice. Her expertise consists of surgical extraction of wisdom teeth, as well as routine extractions. She also performs biopsies, orthodontic related procedures and occasional trauma cases. Implants are also of great interest to Dr. Isdith. At this time she places 3-I implants, Branemark implants, Astra implants, ITI implants, and Imtec implants.
Dr. Isdith is also the type of person who likes to give the patient the option of using general anesthetic versus local anesthesia. She is a firm believer in allowing the patient to choose the type of treatment that suits them better. She prides herself on having her office be one in which the patient is comfortable in making their own decisions and being allowed to explore the possibilities that will make them the most comfortable.
On a personal note, Dr. Isdith is an avid skier and hiker. Dr. Isdith has enjoyed her move to Seattle both professionally and personally. Dr. Isdith and her husband welcomed their first child, Jack, into their lives in 2004. She welcomed her second son, Eddie, in  August of 2006! Dr. Isdith looks forward to meeting you in the future and providing the best treatment that she can for you as a patient in her office.
