Dr. Dauphinais studied biochemistry, exercise physiology and sports medicine prior to medical school to focus on learning essential skills for lifelong health prevention and promotion. He worked as an exercise physiologist and wellness director in cardiac rehab, bariatric medicine and weight management. He served as a Vice President for the International Fitness Professionals Association for four years and has served on their faculty since 1995. After medical school at the University of Miami, he completed residency through the Yale Primary Care Internal Medicine program. Prior to joining ProHealth, Dr. Dauphinais provided care for medically complex, ventilator weaning, post-stroke and severely debilitated patients at Gaylord Hospital as they worked to regain function.
Dr. Dauphinais was born, raised and lives in the Greater Hartford area. He is married and is a multi-time All-American triathlete who has competed at the Triathlon World Championships, Hawaii Ironman, and Boston Marathon. A member of the American College of Physicians and American College of Sports Medicine, he remains committed to promoting lifelong health for all individuals, whether they are trying to get by in their day to day lives, are an elite athlete, or have multiple debilitating chronic diseases.
