Karen Berken, MD, is an obstetrician and gynecologist at Women’s Health Associates in Bossier City and part of the Willis-Knighton Physician Network. She values a strong connection with her patients as she assists mothers as they give birth to their children. Dr. Berken understands the privilege of pregnancy and childbirth and she appreciates the opportunity to share it with her patients.
Originally from New Orleans, Dr. Berken earned a Bachelor of Science degree at University of Notre Dame. She moved to Shreveport to get a medical degree at LSU Health Sciences Center School of Medicine, where she also completed her residency training in obstetrics and gynecology. Her training includes high-risk obstetrics and minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, including da Vinci robotic surgery. Her patients also have access to BOTOX injections.
Dr. Berken’s best friend is her husband, David, and together they have a daughter. She enjoys quality time with her family and friends. In her spare time, she can be found spending time outdoors and traveling, or at home cooking healthy foods.
