Dr. Karen Prentice has been working in pediatrics since 1996. She attended Graceland College in Lamoni, Iowa. After graduating in 1988, she attended the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific in Pomona, California. She completed her residency program with St. Joseph%u2019s Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona in 1997 and has been certified to practice medicine since. She is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (F.A.A.P.).
Dr. Prentice has 2 sons. Both her boys are very active in sports and choir. Dr. Prentice herself enjoys running, playing tennis, reading and spending time with her family. She definitely finds joy in her job and has started to keep quotable quotes from her patients. Such as a three-year-old who was told that he had pink eye and he responded by saying, %u201CNo I don%u2019t, my eyes are brown!%u201D Or a two-and-a-half-year-old who was seen for bug bites, and when asked what bit him, he said, %u201CMy sister.%u201D
Dr. Prentice, along with Dr. Gettleman, opened Great Destinations Pediatrics in 1999.
