Brief Intro

Dr. Buckley was drawn to plastic surgery because of the impact it can make, noting that even a simple surgery can sometimes cause a huge improvement in a patient’s quality of life. She also enjoys the challenges involved in very complex cases. It is the reason she has spent her entire career working in highly specialized hospital care.  It provides her with the ability to help where it is most needed.Dr. Buckley believes that it is always the people around her that make each day an exciting opportunity. She states that, “when you work in a place where people feel valued, and value each other, they are able to let that shine through in providing the best care possible.”She credits her mother as being the biggest influence in her life. Her mother came to the United States while still a teenager, but had already done two years of training in pediatric orthopedic nursing. Her mother would speak of her time at the hospital and instilled in her that it was always about the people. Because of her mother, Dr. Buckley is mindful that there is more to recovery than surgery itself.Dr. Buckley has a special interest and expertise in burn care and reconstructive surgery. She enjoys mentoring high school and college students in addition to the medical students and young doctors she has taught as faculty at several schools. In her free time, Dr. Buckley enjoys gardening, travel, cooking and, most of all, engaging in respectful conversation with people of different experiences and opinions. While plastic surgery is technically challenging, what I find most satisfying is helping my patients find the course of treatment that works best for them. Every patient has a unique set of problems, needs and priorities. It is vitally important to take all of these into consideration when working with the patient to create a treatment plan.
