Dr. Julie M Robinson, DDS

Julie M. Robinson, D.D.S. Dr. Julie Robinson moved with her parents, brother and two sisters to Anchorage in 1969 when her father was transfer by the U.S. Army. After graduation from A.J. Dimond high in 1978 she attended the University of Oregon where she received a B.S. in General Science and shortly after attended dental school at the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco, California. Dental school is where she met her husband and practice partner David Nielson. After graduation from dental school in 1985 she returned home to Anchorage and opened a private dental practice. Her first daughter Olivia was born in 1991 and a year later Julie and David combined their practice at the current location on N Street. The family expanded to its current size when Deanna was welcomed into the world in 1993. Involvement in the community and the dental society has always been important to Dr. Robinson. She has held various offices in the local and state dental society over the years and served as the President of the Alaska Dental Society in 1994. She has presented at various educational forums and worked as adjunct faculty at the University of Alaska Anchorage dental hygiene program. She also served on the American Dental Association (ADA) committee on the New Dentist from 1994-1998. She has always been active in the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) at Olivia and Deanna’s school and served as PTA president of Gladys Wood Elementary. Dr. Robinson and her family have hosted two foster children and two foreign exchange students. In February 2005 Dr. Robinson was commissioned into the Air National Guard and serves as a Lieutenant Colonel at Kulis Air National Guard Base. She has made several humanitarian trips to Mongolia with the guard to perform emergency dental work for the local population. Outside the dental profession Dr. Robinson enjoys many of the Alaskan activities such as skiing, snowshoeing, running, gardening, flying, camping, fishing and berry picking. During the school year much of her time is spent participating in school activities with her daughters. She also enjoys domestic and international travel. Continuing dental education takes Dr. Robinson and her husband out of the office on occasion to keep up with the latest dentistry has to offer and to keep in touch with colleges.
