I am Julie Kahler, PhD, licensed Psychologist, Researcher, Consultant, and Life Coach. I make change in people’s lives by helping them grow into their best selves. As a clinician and researcher with a scientist-practitioner background, I give clients the specific behavioral and emotional tools they need to feel better and implement lasting change.I have expertise using Video Telehealth and technology to deliver Evidence-Based Psychotherapy, Supervision and Training, Research and Consultation. I provide my services via HIPAA-compliant video because I prioritize confidentiality, privacy, and data security. Telehealth is one of my passions because it provides increased access to specialty services and quality care for everyone.My BackgroundI received a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree with a focus in Psychology from Whittier College. I hold a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Clinical Psychology, with a specialization in Personality and Psychopathology, from Teachers College, Columbia University. I have my Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Clinical Psychology from the University of Nevada, Reno. My training included an APA-accredited predoctoral psychology internship, and a psychology residency fellowship in Health Services Research & Development at the Veterans Affairs. Most recently, I held the position of Evidence Based Psychotherapy Coordinator prior to founding Specialized Psychology Services, LLC in order to apply my expertise to help people, professionals, and businesses with customized evidence-informed interventions to fit their needs. I have supervised trainees, mentored students and early career psychologists, consulted with professionals, and engaged in organizational projects, given trainings, and lectured in universities. I focus on building upon what’s working, to guide clients to make positive changes that enhance quality of life.
