Returning to Colorado in 1991, Dr. Rifkin worked at Denver Health where she became involved in curriculum and course development for the University of Colorado's Internal Medicine Residency Program. She designed and implemented the first Women's Health elective for the residency and also developed a series of core lectures for the resident's Continuity Clinics. She was awarded the prestigious Outstanding Faculty Award for Housestaff Teaching presented by the Department of Medicine in 1995. Dedicated to the academic teaching and study of Internal Medicine, she was selected to direct an expansion of the Primary Care Residency program becoming the Medical Director of the High Street Primary Care Clinic in 1996. She has authored several published medical articles and book chapters. After fifteen years in academic medicine, Dr. Rifkin was honored by the opportunity to join Dr. Michael L. Dunn at Foothills Family Practice. In her down time, Dr. Rifkin enjoys reading and her three Jack Russell terriers.
