Dr. Joy Y. Wang, DMD, MD, MPH Dr. Joy Wang has always strived for excellence in patient care through her education, training and experience. After completing her undergraduate degree at the University of California, Davis, Dr. Wang went on to obtain her doctorate in dental medicine at Harvard University. While at Harvard, Dr. Wang went overseas for externship training in England as well as two dental training rotations at refugee camps in Vietnam & Hong Kong. Her experience at the refugee camps and the heightened awareness of health care issues, not only abroad, but also within the United States, led her to complete her master degree in public health in addition to her doctorate in dental medicine at Harvard. Dr. Wang then went on to complete her medical degree at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). During and after her years at UCSF, she also was a resident in oral & maxillofacial surgery. She also had residency training in general surgery after her graduation from medical school. Dr. Wang is Board Certified and has been published in various publications including the Journal of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, the journal published by the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons. She enjoys learning about new techniques, developments and products for the improvement of dental care for her patients and imparting that knowledge to other oral surgeons and dentists through the lectures she gives at various study club meetings.
