My great uncle Carl Wendel was a physician who was known by his patients for his caring attitude. His patients knew he always had their best interests at heart. Uncle Carl was the inspiration behind my entering medical school, and I am thankful I had him as a role model.I learned from my him the importance of compassionate treatment and a good bedside manner in medicine. I care about how my patients feel and will always take the time to explain to them why their body hurts and how I’m going to help to improve their pain and quality of life.
