Dr. Kratzer received an undergraduate degree from from the State University of New York at Binghamton, and his M.D. from the Medical College of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Dentistry. He completed his training at the Long Island Hospital and The Mount Sinai Medical Center. In addition to his M.D. degree, Dr. Kratzer also has a Ph.D. in Physics, and he is a member of the Sigma Pi Sigma Physics Honor Society.
He decided to enter neurology, because it is such a rapidly evolving field.
"Many diseases that just 20-30 years ago couldn’t be treated are now treatable," says Dr. Kratzer. "It’s a very exciting field."
Dr. Kratzer originally moved to the area because it was a safe, quiet environment to raise children. His family stayed because of the beauty of the area and the peacefulness. In his spare time, he enjoys hiking, writing, and reading.
