Beginning in the early 80's, Dr. Austin studied medicine at The University of Utah followed by an internship and residency at The University of Southern California, Los Angeles County Medical Center. He then completed his fellowship in head and neck surgical oncology at MD Anderson Cancer Center, The University of Texas, Houston. Board certified by the National Board of Medical Examiners, the American Board of Otolaryngology, and the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Dr. Austin is one of the elite Who's Who in Medicine and Health Care. Faculty appointments thus far range from assistant professorships to clinical instructor positions at prestigious institutions and published works authored by Dr. Austin may be found in a variety of otolaryngology literature. Dr. Austin is married to nephrologist Sara Goehringer Austin, MD, and the couple spends liesure time with their three children.
