Dr. Raines is Board Certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology. Dr. Raines is a Fellow in the American College of Surgeons, a member of the American Society of Pediatric Otolaryngology, and is a member of the North American Skull Base Society.
A graduate of Stanford University, Dr. Raines received his Medical Degree and completed his ENT residency at the University of California School of Medicine in San Francisco. He began his ENT practice in the Valley in 1979.
Dr. Raines is an active member of the Valley’s medical community and has served on numerous boards and in many medical staff leadership positions including: President of the Phoenix Children’s Hospital Medical Staff, Member of the Board of Directors for Phoenix Children’s Hospital, Chairman of Surgery at Phoenix Children’s Hospital and Member of the Surgery Committee at Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center(Banner Good Sam). Dr. Raines is a founding member of the CranioFacial Team at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center, and is a founding member of the Skull Base Surgery Team at the Barrow’s Neurologic Institute. He is an adjunct professor at the Mayo Clinic.
Dr. Raines is involved in residency teaching programs at Banner Good Sam and the Mayo Clinic. He has published several articles in professional literature, and has consistently been recognized by Phoenix Magazine’s “Top Docs†publication as one of the top ENT physicians in the Valley.
Dr. Raines resides in Scottsdale with his wife, Barbara. They have four children. Besides his family and friends, Dr. Raines’ interests include golf, sports of all kind, and travel.
