Dr. Kenerson, as one of the founding partners of Cardiovascular Associates, has spent a career dedicated to developing tertiary level cardiology programs to serve the Virginia Beach community. He has served as the first Medical Director of Nuclear Cardiology, Cardiac Catherization lab, and the Cardiovascular Division of Virginia Beach General Hospital, as well as originator of the Tidewater Cardiovascular Institute. In addition to group and hospital leadership roles, community service has included being a founding board member of Priority Health Care, and the Hampton Roads Physician Organization. With his wife, Lisbet Hanson M.D., they formed Partners In Dance to support and develop a home studio for TRDance and the Governor's School Dance Program. Dr. Kenerson was the recipient of the 2009 Krueger Lectureship Virginia Beach Physician of the Year Award in recognition of medical and community service.
