Dr. Murphy has a special clinical interest in the care and rehabilitation of injured athletes of all ages. His surgical expertise includes arthroscopy, orthopedic trauma, and joint reconstruction of the shoulder and knee. He treats younger arthritis patient and offers alternatives to total joint replacement including realignment, osteotomy and unicompartmental knee replacement. Dr. Murphy has completed special training in the use of the unicompartmental knee system. He is currently a team physician for the Portland Timbers professional soccer team, and provides orthopedic care at the Nike Sports Medicine Clinic. He also provides orthopedic support for several local high schools.
