Dr. Blixt chose pulmonary and critical care medicine because it is a continuously evolving field with vast opportunities to help patients and make a difference. The biggest influences in his life were several senior attendings from his training who are his role models in the field of medicine.Dr. Blixt gets excited to come to work every day because each patient encounter provides him an opportunity to help with a medical problem or a symptom. His special interests include obstructive airway disease (asthma, COPD), interstitial lung diseases, critical illness and respiratory failure. In his free time, Dr. Blixt volunteers for different charities/organizations, mostly in the medical field. He also enjoys golf, literature and Netflix. I strive every day to provide the best and most up-to-date, evidence-based care to my patients while at the same time taking a holistic approach considering individual characteristics, goals and circumstances.
