Jerome P. Kassirer, MD has been a member of the faculty of Tufts University School of Medicine for more than 40 years and serviced as the Vice-Chairman of the Department of Medicine for 20 years. His research has encompassed diverse fields including acid-base balance, medical decision-making and cognitive science. He is the recipient of numerous awards and several honorary degrees. He has also served as a governor and regent of the American College of Physicians, chair of the American Board of Internal Medicine and as the Editor-in-Chief of the New England Journal of Medicine.
