Brief Intro

After graduating Magna Cum Laude from the University of California Berkeley, Dr. Eaton earned his medical degree from the University of California Los Angeles, School of Medicine. Following an internship in General Surgery at the University of California Davis and a residency in Head and Neck Surgery/Otolaryngology at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Oakland, California, he then completed a fellowship in Mohs and Cosmetic Surgery at the University of California San Francisco. In 2001, Dr. Eaton was excited to return to his home town to join the prestigious Scripps Clinic in La Jolla. There he was an active member of both the Head and Neck Surgery Department and Mohs and Cosmetic Surgery Departments prior to starting a private practice in 2007. Dr. Eaton is one of the few reconstructive surgeons trained and certified in the Mohs technique. Mohs is a specialized technique to remove skin cancer where the physician serves as surgeon, pathologist and reconstructive surgeon. It offers the highest cure rate of all methods of skin cancer removal. This combined with his background in facial reconstruction make him uniquely qualified. Dr. Eaton also performs sentinel lymph node biopsy, an advanced technique for detecting the spread of melanoma.
